How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

No More Top Bunk Woes!

As most freshman, Beth Miller was the fortunate recipient of a top bunk! Although she was excited for a bird's eye view of the happenings in her entertaining dorm room, Beth desired more privacy as she peacefully slept each night.

One of the many benefits to sleeping on the bottom bunk is that you can use a blanket, or use a curtain to block out light, sound, and to have privacy. Beth decided not to let her situation get the best of her and with the creative ingenious of her Dad (who's occupation is being an excellent plumber!) together they built a structure that would allow Beth to have a curtain for her bed.

Beth explained that the structure was "quite easy and inexpensive".
   1. The first step was to insert dowel rods into holes on three of the bunk posts (you would not need the
frame to extend to the 4th side if you have a bed against a wall).
   2. Then she slid PVC pipe over the dowel rods to start to create a frame for the bed.
   3. She used PVC fittings to connect the pipes together to create a frame that went across the ceiling.

I will post pictures next week to give you a better idea of how you top- bunkers can have a wonderful space to your own just like the inventive Beth Miller!
